Combined Heat and Power in Ohio: The PUCO is conducting a series of combined heat and power workshops. These workshops are part of a pilot project in collaboration with the U.S. DOE to help industrial boiler owners and operators learn about options to meet changing environmental standards. The initiative is intended to remove educational and regulatory barriers to CHP development in Ohio and across the nation. The next workshop is slated for June 20 at the PUCO’s offices in Columbus.

AEP-Ohio’s Electric Security Plan: The PUCO anticipates ruling on the company's modified "ESP II" application sometime this summer. Customers may provide input on the plan at local public hearings scheduled in Canton, Chillicothe, Columbus and Lima.

Apples to Apples Rate Charts: The PUCO produces the Apples to Apples charts to provide residential consumers with a snapshot comparison of current natural gas and electric supplier price options and contract terms. The PUCO updates the Apples to Apples charts on a regular basis and verifies each supplier offer to ensure accuracy.

Dayton Power & Light‘s Market Rate Offer Proposal: In March, DP&L filed a proposal to replace its current electric security plan that expires at the end of the year with a new plan called a market rate offer. DP&L’s proposal would set generation rates from January 2013 through May 2018 by blending current rates with rates set in a competitive auction.
