COLUMBUS, OHIO ( Dec. 6, 2012) – The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) today scheduled two local public hearings to provide customers an opportunity to express their views on the Dayton Power and Light Company’s (DP&L) electric security plan.
The local public hearings will be held Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Dayton Municipal building located at 101 W. Third Street, Dayton.
On Oct. 5, 2012 DP&L filed an application to establish an electric security plan, or ESP. The ESP would establish generation rates for January 1, 2013 through December 31, 2017.
The plan calls for DP&L’s generation to be sourced through competitive bidding auctions during the term of the ESP; with ultimately 100 percent of its load determined by auctions beginning June 1, 2016. The Dayton Power and Light Company serves more than 500,000 customers in 24 counties throughout the Miami Valley area of Ohio.
