PUCO Nominating Council to meet January 17

COLUMBUS, OHIO (Jan. 4, 2013) – The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) Nominating Council will meet on Jan. 17, 2013 to interview applicants for the position of commissioner to fill two vacancies. The first is for the unexpired term commencing upon appointment by the Governor and ending on April 10, 2013, and the second is for the term commencing on April 11, 2013, and ending on April 10, 2018. The meeting will begin at 8:45 a.m. in Hearing Room 11-B at the PUCO offices, 180 E. Broad St., Columbus.

The agenda for the Nominating Council meeting is as follows:

Upon the conclusion of the opening public session, the Nominating Council will convene an executive session pursuant to the Ohio Revised Code to interview the following candidates.

9:55 a.m.         Sandra Williams, Cleveland
10:15 a.m.       Dan Shields, Westerville
10:35 a.m.       Tom Letson, Warren

The Nominating Council will reconvene its public session at 12:35 p.m. and select four candidates to submit to Gov. John Kasich for his consideration to fill the vacated commissioner term as well as the five-year commissioner term that begins April 11, 2013. The Ohio Senate must confirm the governor’s appointment.
