Posted is the Ohio Long Term Forecast of Energy Requirements 2008-2027. This document presents year by year forecasts of the prevailing energy, economic, and demographic trends in the U.S., Ohio, and utility service areas in Ohio, for the next twenty years.
The forecasts presented in this document include the annual requirements for energy resources, i.e. electricity, natural gas, petroleum products, coal and nuclear energy, by the residential, commercial, industrial, transportation, and electric utilities sectors of the State of Ohio from 2008 through 2027. Peak load forecasts for the U.S., Ohio, and for the service areas of investor-owned electric distribution utilities (EDUs) operating in Ohio are also presented for the 2008 through 2027 forecast horizon.
In addition, the Ohio Energy Data Report is published to provide reasonable access to current Ohio energy data, statistics, and information as compiled by the Division of Policy and Market Analysis of the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio. The publication date of the report is approximately four months after the calendar quarter for which the information is reported. Ohio Energy Data Report, 3rd Quarter, 2009 is the latest report now available.
These series of reports offer the most current information about the production, consumption and price of energy in Ohio. They serve as useful tools in monitoring state level energy trends and in support of the Commission's mandate under sections 4935.02 and 4935.03 of the Ohio Revised Code.
